About Katie:
Katie ("Kat") grew up in Pulaski, Wisconsin, a small town outside of Green Bay.
She moved to Minneapolis to attend the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities
after graduating from high school in 2003. She graduated from The U in May 2007
with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Kat is the CEO of her Mary Kay business

and loves being an Independent Beauty Consultant. She is also
employed in downtown Minneapolis with SPS Commerce, a technology-based company,
as an Implementation Analyst. Kat loves playing with her puppy Daisy, date
nights with her girlfriends, snowboarding, cheering on the PACKERS and Gophers,
and spending time with Joe! About Joseph:
Joseph ("Joe") grew up in Marshall, Minnesota, which is in the southwestern corner of the state. He moved to Minneapolis to
attend the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities after graduating from high school in 2004. He graduated from The U in May
2008 with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science after sailing around the world through the Semester at Sea program. Joe
is currently employed in Mendota Heights, Minnesota with CotterWeb Enterprises, a small web marketing company, as a the
Manager of Information Technology.
Joe loves playing with his puppy Daisy, hanging out with friends, watching and playing sports of all kinds, snowboarding, cheering on the VIKINGS/Twins/Gophers, and spending time with Kat!
How They Met:
Joe and Kat met when they both moved into the same college house on campus at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. Kat and three of her girlfriends moved into the top 2 floors of the house, and Joe and six of his friends moved into the bottom 2 floors of the house. One night during winter break in January, 2007, Joe had 2 tickets to the Gopher hockey game but all of his roommates were gone - so he decided to ask Kat to go to the game with him. Little did Joe know this was the start of the rest of his life. (PS - the Gophers won that game!)
The Proposal:
Kat likes to call this the best week of her life: she started her own Mary Kay business on Sunday, Joe bought her a puppy, Daisy, on Tuesday, and then Joe proposed on Wednesday!
Joe and Kat had made plans to take their brand new puppy Daisy, whom they had adopted from the Humane Society, out to Minnehaha Falls park after work on Wednesday, September 30, 2009. They walked her around the dog park and then down by the falls. As they were down by the falls, Joe began asking Daisy to sit and got down on his knees to help her. Kat didn't think much of this, as they had been trying to work on Daisy's tricks quite a bit for the last 2 days. However, once Daisy sat like a good puppy, Joe stayed down on one knee and pulled the ring out of his pocket! Kat was so surprised all she could say was YES! The proposal could not have happened in a more beautiful setting and could not have been more meaningful with Daisy as part of the proposal :)
